According to the latest data, an IDF night attack in Beirut disrupted the election of a new Hezbollah leader.

The blow was dealt at a meeting of the Shura Council, where the official election of Hashem Ad-Din to the position of general secretary of the organization was scheduled.

Recall that the IDF launched powerful attacks against Beirut, targeting one of Hezbollah’s leaders, Hisham Safi ad-Din, considered the successor of Hassan Nasrallah.
According to Israeli and Lebanese sources, the attack targeted a deeply fortified underground bunker in the Dahiya region, a key Hezbollah outpost.
More than 30 bunker-type bombs, specially designed to destroy protected objects, were used in the attack.
Despite the destructive nature of the attack, Safi ad-Din’s fate remains unclear. There are known deaths and injuries at the site of the attack, but rescue operations are difficult due to severe damage and dangerous conditions.
