The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the introduction of new movement restrictions in southern Lebanon. According to IDF spokesman Colonel Avichai Adrai, starting tomorrow, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., crossing the Litani River in the south direction will be prohibited.
According to him, residents south of the Litani River should remain in their current locations and not leave the territory. These measures are being introduced as part of ensuring security in the area where the Israeli army continues to operate.
The IDF remains stationed in southern Lebanon, but the ceasefire requires the army to withdraw its troops within the next 60 days.
The decision to impose restrictions highlights the tense situation in the region and the need to control movements.
It is also worth noting that, according to an Israel Defense Forces spokesperson, on Saturday the IDF carried out a series of operations in southern Lebanon in response to actions that pose a threat to Israeli security and violate the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
During one of the operations, the arrival of armed people in the southern regions of Lebanon was recorded. According to an IDF spokesman, the militants were carrying grenade launchers, boxes of ammunition and other military equipment in the car. Soon the car was attacked by an Israeli aircraft under the control of the 300th Brigade.
In another episode, IDF forces attacked terrorists arriving at a Hezbollah base in southern Lebanon. Army landing units found the militants’ weapons, including grenades and pistols, and neutralized the threat.
In addition, the army spokesman noted that in the Sidon area, terrorist activity was reported at a Hezbollah facility where the organization’s missile launchers were located. Israeli fighter jets attacked the launchers, preventing their use.
Another target was a military vehicle associated with Hezbollah’s missile production. This attack took place deep in Lebanese territory.
