IDF issued urgent appeal to Beirut residents

The IDF has asked residents of Beirut’s southern suburbs to urgently leave the area of two buildings associated with Hezbollah activities.

This was reported in Arabic by Colonel Avichai Adrai, spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces.

It also published maps indicating areas of potential danger and emphasized the need to stay at least 500 meters away from designated objects.

This warning is due to upcoming airstrikes against Hezbollah-linked targets.

In recent days, the IDF has carried out a series of attacks against Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut.

Previously, Cursor wrote that the IDF in Lebanon is limited by two limiting factors.

In an interview with radio station 103FM, retired Colonel Kobi Marom, a national security expert and specialist in the northern direction, shared his opinion on Israel’s current strategy in Lebanon. His statement came after Defense Minister Israel Katz called for the dismantlement of Hezbollah’s military infrastructure.

Marom noted that the situation is at a turning point between active hostilities and a possible diplomatic agreement. According to him, Hezbollah does not experience enough pressure from Israel, which requires greater activity. He stressed that Israel now has no choice but to continue the pressure.

The expert also linked Israel’s restraint in action to the recent US elections, when the Biden administration insisted on minimizing military escalation. However, as Marom noted, once the elections are over, Israel must increase pressure, especially in strategic areas such as Beirut and Baalbek. He stressed that airstrikes carried out against Hezbollah targets were not effective enough and called for more decisive actions.
