IDF reports rocket fire from Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recorded around five rocket launches from Lebanon in the country’s northern regions, some of the rockets were shot down by air defense systems, the army’s press service reported on Saturday.

“After the air raid sirens sounded in the Western Galilee area, about five projectiles were recorded flying from Lebanon towards Israeli territory. Several projectiles were intercepted, the rest fell in open areas.” – says the message.

The press service added that there were no reports of casualties.

The situation on the border between Israel and Lebanon has worsened since the start of Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. The Israeli army and Hezbollah are firing daily at each other’s positions in areas along the border. According to the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, some 100,000 people have been forced to leave their homes in southern Lebanon due to Israeli shelling. The Israeli side reported that some 80,000 residents of northern Israel were in a similar situation.
