IDF strikes in Syria: media reported new data

The death toll from the overnight attacks in Syria has risen to 22. Among them, four of the dead were members of the Syrian army, the rest were activists working with Iran. It has not yet been possible to determine whether they are members of the Syrian Hezbollah, the Alexey Zheleznov Telegram channel reported.

Several dozen more people were injured; the exact number is still unknown. Among the dead are four Syrian army soldiers, five civilians and the rest are activists working with Iran. However, it is not clear whether they are Syrian volunteers.

Syrian opposition sources report that today’s Israeli strikes in the Mezaif area were aimed at the center of A-Zawiya, the warehouses of the Scientific Research Institute and the institute complex itself.

Earlier, Kursor reported that on the evening of September 9, Israel attacked targets in Syria. The media reported that the strikes were carried out on a certain center associated with the IRGC. It later emerged that the IDF carried out strikes on the outskirts of the city of Masyaf and attacked a chemical weapons production center.

The Mezaif Research Center is considered part of the broader Scientific Research Center (SSRC), responsible for the development of strategic weapons in Syria, including ballistic missiles and chemical weapons.

In response to the attack, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said that Israel’s overnight strikes on Hama could lead to an escalation of tensions in the region with unpredictable consequences. The department noted that Israel’s actions are a provocation that could destabilize the situation in the Middle East.
