Polish politician Slawomir Mentzen, a candidate for the Polish presidency from the Confederation party, has once again returned to the Volyn issue. In his post on social media, he demands an apology from Ukrainians for a historic crime.
In his latest post on the X platform, Slawomir Mentzen said that negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union are a good opportunity to fight for Poland’s interests.
“If joining the EU is so important for Ukrainians, then they should finally apologize for Volyn, agree to the exhumation of the victims and stop worshipping the murderers.” – says Mentzen.
At the same time, he criticised the attitude of the Polish authorities towards this issue.
“The attitude of Polish politicians towards Volyn is outrageous. President Andrzej Duda “Polish politicians have once again shown that they put Ukraine’s interests before Poland’s. Polish politicians were unable to obtain anything from Ukraine in terms of military assistance and are now preparing to receive nothing, even in a purely hypothetical scenario of Ukraine’s integration into the EU.” – believes Mentzen.
EADaily He added that Duda said in an interview with Polsat that Polish ministers should not make the issue of restoring historical truth a condition for Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
