The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, assured this Friday during his appearance that he “will lead the recovery” and if he is not able to do so, will not run for office.
“I do not hide the errors of the GeneralitatI recognize them, I assume them and I even apologize and I am not going to avoid the responsibilities that I must assume, I must be the first. Valencia, the affected area, needs this recovery and that we carry out this recovery with all determination, and if I am not capable of it, I will assume the consequences by not running for office,” he said. -he declared in Les Corts, where he sits.account of its management.
Although he said that if he is not able to lead the recovery he will not run for office, during his appearance Mazón has shown little self-criticism towards his management in the DANA which struck the Valencian Community on October 29.
Thus, Mazón indicated that his opinion on the Spanish government is “clear“. “We had two options; provoke an institutional conflict or get to work from the first moment providing all the resources that the Government can give us”, said the president of the Generalitat, who has repeatedly criticized the Sánchez Executive for its alleged management.
“The most important thing was to bring troops and resources. It means putting yourself above any political dispute,” he added.
During his appearance, Mazón also set as his main objective to confront the reconstruction of the Valencian Community after DANA.
The President of the Generalitat announced a vice-presidency for economic and social recovery who will lead the interparliamentary recovery commission in which all the advisors will be present. Also, the creation of a new Ministry of Emergencies and the Interior. A new department, according to Mazón, dedicated exclusively to “prevention and action in the face of crises” and also to “pedagogy”. A new Generalitat with a “modern and efficient structure” in which Mazón has not announced any layoffs.
