“If you are looking for Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, you will find him”

The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, Miguel Angel García Martín, said Wednesday that if the Attorney General of the State, Álvaro García Ortiz, “tries to find” the chief of staff of the Presidency of the Community, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, “he will find it.”

This is what was indicated during the press conference which followed the Governing Council, at the request of journalists. It should be remembered that García Ortiz requested that Rodríguez be summoned to testify in the case aimed at whether the Attorney General disclosed email data that the businessman’s defense Alberto Gonzalez Amadorassociate of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, headed the economic crimes prosecutor’s office in Madrid.

“The only assessment we can make is that, of course, this is a smoke screen again. A smokescreen to cover up something extremely serious, which is that we have a state attorney general who is accused of breaking a law that he is sworn to protect,” he said in statements reported by Europa Press.

In this sense, the Minister of Justice informed the Attorney General and his defense that “there is no hoax” or “smokescreen” and “there is no mud” that “can cover up the scandal” this affects him since, according to him, García Ortiz decided “to use the means of the State for his defense”.

“And in the absence of a lawyer, he has three, three defense lawyers: the prosecution itself, the prosecutor himself who should prosecute but who is subordinate to the attorney general of the state, so you can tell me what type of accusation can do it, and also his own lawyer”, he indicated, which, according to García Martín, “is unprecedented in democracy”.

“What I say to the Attorney General, and I know him well, is that if he tries to look for Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, of course he will find him,” he said.

Asked about the tone of the message that Rodríguez wrote on his social networks after learning the news (“Attorney General: If you call me to testify, you will go!!!”), García Martín emphasized that “everyone in their social networks can express themselves as they wish, because it could not be otherwise.”

“I insist, the attorney general will not have to give the explanations on social networks, he will have to give them in court, I insist, for having broken a law,” he insisted.
