Israel will confront its enemies without the help of countries that do not want to help it, in particular by providing it with weapons. This was announced by the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, today, October 6, to the French President, Emmanuel Macron, with whom he had a telephone conversation, reports the Israeli Prime Minister’s office.
The prime minister reiterated Israel’s position that friends of the Jewish state are expected to support it rather than impose restrictions that would only strengthen Iran’s “axis of evil.” Netanyahu also highlighted that Israel’s actions against Hezbollah create an opportunity to change the situation in Lebanon for the sake of stability, security and peace in the entire region.
The day before, Netanyahu had already said that Israel would defeat the pro-Iranian forces in the region without the help of those Western countries that speak of the need to impose an arms embargo on the Jewish State. This statement came after Macron called for stopping the supply of weapons to Israel, which are used to carry out military operations in the Gaza Strip, calling such a step a priority to resolve the situation in the region.
Former British Foreign Secretary David Lammy announced the suspension of the supply of components for military aircraft, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (approximately 30 of 350 licenses for the export of weapons to Israel), because “they could be used for violations of international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip.”
