The Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape) increases its budget by 20% in 2025, up to a total of 278 million eurosof which 10.3 will be allocated to promoting the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in businesses.
The director of the Galician Institute of Economic Promotion, Covadonga Toca, intervened in the parliamentary committee to announce its accounts for next year and made a positive balance by “strengthening our capacity to support businesses”, he said.
As reported, the Galicia Economic Office increases its budget to 6 million, or 8.8% more. With more than 10,000 requests answered to dateToca claims a new way of entering into a “more agile, closer and simpler” way of relating to the commercial fabric.
The provision aimed at facilitating finance small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and self-employed workers amounts to 152 million, or 45% more, depending on what caught the attention. In addition, the institute allocates more than 33 million to programs to support competitiveness, among which Toca highlighted the second edition of the Business Attraction programs, with 12 million for significant projects.

On the other hand, nearly 5 million are allocated to different programs, in particular to support the “double digital and sustainable transformation”. Furthermore, Igape is launching a new edition of specific support line for Galician startupswith an endowment of 1.5 million.
Among other elements, Covadonga Toca highlighted the one endowed with 52 million within the framework of the just transition fundthis therefore only concerns the province of La Coruña.
