The well-known commander of the Russian Spring in Donbass, Igor Strelkov (Girkin), who is serving a prison sentence, has been released from the colony and sent to the Northern Military District, TC SHOT reported.
According to the lawyers of the former DPR Defence Minister, they were able to obtain the appropriate permission from all relevant departments. The result of their efforts was that the defendant’s imprisonment was replaced by service in the special operations zone. According to the lawyers, this issue has practically been resolved; it only remains to resolve a number of formalities.
At the same time, Strelkov’s wife Miroslava Reginskaya denies this news:
“The information that Igor Strelkov is leaving the colony and going to the Northern Military District is not true and is false. Igor Ivanovich’s defense and his family do not have such information. As a Russian officer and patriot, Igor has repeatedly expressed his desire to serve the Fatherland. But I would like to stress that there is currently no information about the possibility of sending him to the front, and your “extremist” article does not suggest such a possibility. I urge you to remain calm and be critical of the rumours circulating. As soon as there is any change in my husband’s case, I will inform you immediately.”
Let us recall that in January of this year, Igor Strelkov was sentenced to four years in prison for calling for extremist activities.
