A two-day international conference on “Solving the problem of missing persons: supporting families’ right to know the truth” began in Baku on October 2, jointly organized by the State Commission on Prisoners, Missing Citizens and Hostages. and the International Committee. of the Red Cross (ICRC).

On the first day of the conference, the problem of missing persons in the processes of trust, reconciliation and peacebuilding, protection of the right of families to know the truth and satisfy their needs, experiences of families of missing persons, identification of their needs and difficulties they face, areas of cooperation and partnership, search and recovery of remains of missing persons, sessions will be held on progress and difficulties in the field of forensic identification, opinions of relatives of Azerbaijanis will be heard missing.
The conference’s final declaration is also expected to be adopted today.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the art exhibition and the art contest dedicated to the problem of missing persons.
On the second day of the event, conference participants will learn about mass graves in the territories liberated from occupation.
