AZERTAC reports that President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to Kristalina Georgiyeva for her participation in COP29.
The Head of State expressed his satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IMF and stressed that most of our cooperation consists of consultations on economic and financial policy.
The Head of State expressed the importance of continuing close cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and said that, especially during Azerbaijan’s presidency at COP29, active work will be done to provide additional financial support to developing countries.
Kristalina Georgiyeva, who thanked the head of state for the invitation to COP29, conveyed her congratulations on the organization of this event at the highest level in Azerbaijan and expressed confidence in its successful completion.
Kristalina Georgiyeva noted that there is additional potential to expand cooperation in the financial field between Azerbaijan and the International Monetary Fund and invited our country to participate in aid programs related to climate challenges to developing countries through the IMF.
President Ilham Aliyev positively appreciated the offer of cooperation with the IMF in this direction and said that Azerbaijan will soon take the necessary measures for this.
During the conversation, ideas were exchanged about cooperation between our country and the IMF, and topics of mutual interest were discussed.
