The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, warned that there are campsites that worry the government because they are in flood zones, and he did not rule out taking “radical decision” about this.
“Work was already underway on this subject, my government has not yet started it, but it must be taken into account solutionsdeterminations or decisions, what I say is that we will take them”, he indicated in an interview this Monday on Radio Catalunya, while he has been at the head of the Executive for 100 days Catalan.
“What we are going to do, from the Land Department, is analyze the flood plans and see if there are activities that do not correspond. There are indeed some of whom we already know that they are in a situation situation that does not correspond and, therefore, we must see from an administrative and legal point of view what to do. Let’s be clearer: there are certain campsites that concern us and we are working on them. This is the first priority, now we have to resolve what worries us the most,” Illa explained.
“If there are activities which, with strict protocols, thoughtful measures, warning and information systemsdo not offer guarantees of protection to people who carry out this activity, because these types of decisions must be made. What I’m saying is we’ll take them when appropriate,” the president said.
