The socialist government of the Generalitat presented this Wednesday the institutional events of the National Day of Catalonia on September 11, a day designed “for all”, based on unity, diversity and Catalan feeling and under the motto ‘Molts cors, un sol batec (Many hearts, one heartbeat). Feel Catalonia‘.
“A Diada where any citizen of Catalonia can feel connected, involved and encouraged to participate in these events,” said the spokesperson and advisor to the Government, Sílvia Paneque. The Diada program responds to the design developed at the time by the ERC government, which according to the current executive was “sensitive” to the political moment and the circumstances that, according to her, could politically accompany this September 11, which, as has been explained, the current Catalan government has been able to assume, because they share the same values and the same sensitivity.
Paneque explained that the core values of the Diada will be diversity and transversality and that these values alone transmit “a message against fascism and the extreme right, which are exclusive projects and which always designate diversity as a problem and not as a wealth.”
“There are many people behind it and a lot of work from entities, institutions, people without political connection “More than the desire to collaborate on an artistic level, it would seem to me a bad decision if a political party decides to criticize this,” added Paneque. The only element that the Government has included in the Diada program is the recovery of the institutional message of the President of the Palau de la Generalitat, on the 10th at 9 p.m.
The Diada events will begin on Tuesday, September 10 in the afternoon with the presentation of the Medal of Honor of the Parliament to the Monastery of Montserrat for its “contribution, as well as that of the Benedictine community, throughout the history of Catalonia” and in recognition of its importance.
Also on Tuesday, September 10, at 9 p.m., the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, will deliver the traditional institutional message from the Palau de la Generalitat, which will be broadcast on TV3, Catalunya Ràdio, the Government website and social networks.
On September 11, the demonstrations will begin with the floral offering at the monument of Rafael Casanova at 9 a.m., in which the Government and the various political parties in Parliament participate.
In the evening, at 10 p.m., the institutional act in the Puig i Cadafalch towers of Montjuïc, which will feature the reading of poems by authors celebrating anniversaries; the interpretation of musical pieces and performances from various disciplines of the performing arts and elements of traditional culture. The artistic director of the event, Marta Bayarri, explained at the press conference that it was an “entirely cultural” event, aimed at all citizens and representing the diversity and plurality of Catalonia, reports Ep.
