Salvador Illa’s first parliamentary oversight session allowed the president to reiterate before the ERC that he would respect the economic agreement concluded in exchange for his inauguration. On this occasion, the head of government also reaffirmed a specific commitment, following the request of the Republicans, which is to multiply by four the resources of the Tax Administration of Catalonia, so that it is able to collect all the personal income tax in the year 2026, as provided for in the pact signed by the two parties.
“I reiterate my personal commitment to respect and respect in every detail the agreements signed with your group, and especially what concerns singular financing”, assured Illa in the speech of Josep María Jové, spokesperson for ERC, who told him that he would make “concrete progress” and not hide behind technical difficulties.

Jové joined this same call, which assured that a “solid” political majority is necessary to defend the financing that they promote, which is why he described as “unpatriotic” and “manichaeism” the threat of Junts to block the proposal. However, in the last policy debate, it was the PSC that chose to abandon Junts’ proposal on the economic agreement, even though it contained no elements of friction with the ERC proposal.
Precisely, the first opposition group criticized the PSC for its coincidences in the general policy debate with PP and Vox. According to Junts spokesperson Albert Batet, the socialists sided with these right-wing groups in 41 resolutions. “Do you think that this is how your investiture agreements are viable and that they serve to guarantee respect for Catalonia,” he asked.
