There has been an increase in cases of barriers being erected in front of residential neighbourhoods and buildings in the capital.
The barriers, installed at the expense of residents’ personal initiative and funds, are intended to prevent foreign vehicles from entering and leaving the area.
The problem is that many of these barriers are controlled by the residents themselves. Therefore, the person who wants to enter the area must have a remote control or wait hours for someone to come and open the barrier.
“A few years ago, my grandson spilled hot water on his face. The ambulance we called arrived on time, but was unable to enter the yard,” the resident complained.
