Illescas receives international award for his chess in education project

This Thursday, in Budapest (Hungary), during the celebration of the 45th Chess Olympiad, the Indian Viswanathan Anand, fifteenth world champion of this discipline between 2007 and 2013, presented the FIDE chess silver medal to the Education Commission of the Illescas City Council, whose first call rewarded the most important chess for education projects in the world.

José Manuel Tofiño, mayor of Illescas, and Félix Toribio, president of the Nuestro Ajedrez en Europa club and coordinator of the project “Chess at school, an educational strategy”, were in charge of collecting the medal.
