Kupang – The Party of East -Nusa Tenggar Perindo (NTT) encourages provincial and regent/city governments to form a team to study fees in public schools, which are considered burdensome for parents of students. This proposal was delivered after the conclusions of the Ombudsman NTT in relation to the growth of an unclear legal basis in a number of schools.
“I hope that the province of the province forms a team to revise the agreement and participate in the decision -making process,” said the acting chairman of the NTT Perindo DPW Simson a Lawa, on Monday (06.30.2025).
Simson said that although the fees based on the committee agreement were allowed, the nominal was often unrealistic and it was necessary to consider. “In principle, fees can be carried out by agreement of the school committee. But the agreed amount is still quite expensive, so it must be considered, ”he said.
He said that this policy was contrary to the spirit of cheap and free education, which conducted the campaign for the central government. “Thus, this is the problem of the Permindo party and encourages NTT and the Government of the Regency/City province to control schools, especially in public schools that carry out fees outside these provisions,” he said.

According to Simson, the conclusions of the Ombudsman show that many public schools are still collecting money during registration and in the form of ordinary contributions. “Based on the conclusions of the NTT Ombudsman, it turns out that there are many more public schools that implement the collection policy for parents of students during registration and various other monthly fees,” he said.
