He said the infusions relieve some symptoms of illness and have a positive effect on the daily health regimen.

“Chamomile, mint and honeysuckle (melissa) teas are prominent in the treatment of digestive system problems. Along with these teas, herbs such as sage, ginger, cumin and anise also contribute to facilitating digestion,” he stated.

The expert pointed out that there are two main methods for preparing herbal infusions, such as preparing and boiling them:

“The plants, which are mainly used to obtain leaves and flowers, should be boiled and then added to cold water. Root plants, such as ginger, should be boiled with water first, then strained and consumed.”

According to him, the ideal is to drink 1 to 3 cups of infusions during the day.

“Greater consumption can cause side effects in the body due to the plant ingredients,” the expert emphasized.

He emphasized that there are different species that should be paid attention to, especially in chamomile tea:

“We recommend the type popularly known as May chamomile. Not all chamomiles in nature can be consumed as tea; using the wrong type can cause allergic reactions,” he said.

The expert pointed out that it is important to buy infusions from reliable sources.

“We recommend consumers pay attention to the origin when purchasing herbal teas and use them with expert advice,” he emphasized.
