Improving the quality of the regional hospital of the Western Nias Pratama is part of the best quick results (PHTC) or a quick victory program that was launched by President Prabovo Subianto. This program is aimed at improving medical services in remote, most external and leading areas (3T) through infrastructure and hospital services throughout Indonesia.
The increase in the regional hospital of the West Nias Pratama was implemented through the construction of a tripartite building, which will be equipped with the main services, such as emergency unit (IGD), stationary rooms, pregnant women, laboratories and pharmaceutical services.
The deputy governor of the North Sumatra Surya said that the province of North Sumatra had 207 hospitals, and 9 of them were on Nias Islands. That is, the role of state hospitals is very important as the main referral service.
“Currently, the regional hospital of Dr. M. Tomsen in Gunungsitoli is the only adequate referral hospital. This is, of course, a heavy burden, given the population of the Nias Islands more than 962 thousand inhabitants, ”Surya said.
