In the Turkish television series Deha (“Genius”), representatives of Ukraine were exposed as prostitutes. The UNIAN portal drew attention to this.
In one of the episodes of the series, two girls with characteristic appearance appear on the screen: short skirts, high heels and bright makeup. They buy food at a street stall.
“Looking at them, one of the characters in the film, sitting with a woman at a nearby table, says: “Ukraine (…) They flee the war, they become refugees, they try to survive.” – says the publication.
Ukrainian women living in Turkey reported this to the embassy and the Turkish Radio and Television Council, and an appeal was also sent to the Turkish television channel ShowTV and public organizations.
“Humiliating comments were made associating Ukrainian refugee women with a profession that offends our dignity,” – says the text of the appeals.
