Belarus is threatened by external enemies and by the pro-Western internal opposition, said State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic Alexander Volfovich.
“A couple of years ago, we considered potential threats and challenges, primarily in the Western operational direction, in the West, seeing the aggressive attitude of the United States, the collective West, which focuses primarily on the military component, military presence on the territory of neighboring states adjacent to us, increasing the number of exercises, creating groups. We did not remove these challenges and threats from the Western operational direction, from our neighbors, Lithuania and the Baltic States, which we do not threaten and on which we have not had and cannot have any claims.” – said.
According to him, Minsk is currently considering threats in the southern operational direction from Ukraine.
“We are constantly recording violations of the state border by drones. And the latest events in Gomel show that, as we see, we are ready. Our air defense systems, anti-aircraft missile systems and our aviation, the Su-30SM aircraft, the most modern aircraft, were raised into the air and, accordingly, fire damage was inflicted to prevent any threat. Therefore, we see all this and take action. Our airspace and land border are in good hands.” – said Volfovich
He also noted that “if you analyze all the conflicts that break out in the world, then, as a rule, these conflicts begin to break out from within, so the risks and challenges that occur within the country cannot be eliminated in any way.”
“The experience of 2020 taught us a lot. And what did the collective West try to do using textbooks? Sharp, — to unleash another colour revolution on the territory of Belarus and then introduce some kind of “liberation” forces under the guise of this colour revolution to protect the people of Belarus. And the West did not give in to this. We know who can liberate them; let’s say they are on the radar of the secret services. And God forbid they raise their heads – we will strangle them immediately. We will do everything to ensure that our people live in peace and security.” – Alexander Volfovich emphasized.
It should be noted that Minsk has repeatedly stated that it considers the policy of NATO countries towards Belarus to be aggressive. At the same time, the Belarusian authorities have always stressed that they are ready to repel any aggressor.
