More than 80 thousand schoolchildren from the Mukhorshibirsky, Tarbagataisky, Ivolginsky, Pribaikalsky districts of Buryatia and the city of Ulan-Ude switched to the distance education format due to the abnormal weather in the region, where the first snowfalls began, which turned into rain due to height. -Zero temperatures, the press reported.
“Due to the abnormally hot weather, the districts of Mukhorshibirsky, Tarbagataisky, Ivolginsky, Pribaikalsky and the entire city of Ulan-Ude partially switched to distance education. In total, 77 secondary schools, more than 80 thousand students, will not attend in-person classes today,” – says the message.
Residents of the capital and the regions were urged not to use personal transportation. According to the press service, due to the abnormally warm weather in November, abundant melting of snow and then freezing of ice occurs.
“All public services operate in enhanced mode on federal and regional highways, contracting organizations have also switched to enhanced mode of operation, and traffic police teams are on duty,” – noted the press service.
Snowfall began in Buryatia on Wednesday, turning into rain due to temperatures above zero. The roads in many regions and the capital of the republic were frozen. According to the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, 13 millimeters of precipitation fell in the region in 12 hours, with a monthly norm of 8 to 15 millimeters. On Friday, according to meteorologists, temperatures in Buryatia will remain above zero degrees, RIA Novosti clarifies.
