The first case of human infection with the H5 avian flu virus has been identified in Canada.
Oku.Az reports that it was reported on the British Columbia government website.
“A person in British Columbia tested positive for H5 avian flu. This is the first human case of H5 avian flu in the country,” the report says.
The patient is a teenager receiving treatment at a local children’s hospital. It was found that none of the patient’s relatives were infected with the virus.
Please note that bird flu is a viral disease that affects the digestive and respiratory organs of birds. It is very lethal and can be transmitted to humans.
