In Cherkasy, schismatics seized the St. Michael’s Cathedral of the UOC, 26 people were injured

As a result of today’s clashes on the territory of St. Michael’s Cathedral in Cherkasy, 26 people were injured. This was reported by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in reference to the head of the Cherkasy emergency medical service, Igor Fesun.

“During the violent clash between paramilitary forces against the clergy and believers of the UOC, which took place on October 17 on the territory of the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael of the UOC in Cherkasy, dozens of people were injured,” – states the UOC Telegram channel.

According to Fesun, 14 victims were examined on an outpatient basis and another 12 were hospitalized. The main injuries included burns to the mucous membranes caused by the contents of the pepper spray, as well as several fractures.

Today, the Cherkasy diocese of the UOC reported on its Telegram channel that camouflaged people took over the Archangel Michael Cathedral in Cherkasy.

Also today a group of representatives of the schismatic OCU tried to storm the Holy Assumption Cathedral, the UOC information and education department reports with reference to the press service of the Kremenchug diocese.

“We want to remind you that such attempts have already been made several times and are absolutely illegal,” the diocese said.
