The known number of people who were poisoned after lunch in a dining room in Novocheboksarsk increased to 208, the press service of the Ministry of Health of Chuvashia reported on the Telegram channel.
“The number of hospitalized children remains the same: six patients with moderate severity. “202 patients, including nine adults, have mild severity and are being treated on an outpatient basis.” – says the message.
The department clarified that all patients receive medical care and children are supervised by local pediatricians.
Previously, the regional Ministry of Health reported that five students from school number 4 in Novocheboksarsk were hospitalized with signs of poisoning, in total 163 people sought help. According to the Baza telegram channel, students from the cadet high school were also poisoned; they share the same food supplier with the school;
RBC later learned that expired food products were found at the school and the deputy city prosecutor Vladimir Yagudin stopped an attempt to take food products previously stored in the dining room through the school’s emergency exit.
Based on the materials of the prosecutor’s inspection, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 236 of the Criminal Code – violation of sanitary and epidemiological standards. The article also provides for prison sentences of up to two years.
