In France they will not cancel the agreement on the sale of the decree of Peter II stolen in the Russian Federation – EADaily – Russian News. News from France in Russian. Russia France. France Russia. News from Russia France. Russian news from 11/19/2024.

The French auction house Aguttes, which previously sold the original decree of Peter II stolen from the Russian State Military Historical Archive (RGVIA), will not cancel the deal. This was stated at the auction house.

“The Central Office for Combating Trafficking in Cultural Property carried out an investigation against us. “He informed us that there were no reasons to cancel the sale and the case was closed.” – the director of the Department of Books, Manuscripts and Valuable Documents of Aguttes told RIA Novosti Sophie Perrin.

As reported EADailyAt the end of October it became known that the original decree, preserved in the Russian Military Historical Archive (RGVIA), was replaced by a copy. We are talking about “Decree of Emperor Peter II to the Military College on the dismissal of Famintsyn from the post of commander of St. Petersburg and the appointment of Prince GA Urusov in his place. September 9, 1727.” The Moscow Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation into the disappearance of the historical document.

After some time, it turned out that the document was auctioned by the French auction house Aguttes with a starting price of 1 to 1.2 thousand euros. As a result, the valuable historical document was sold for 3.12 thousand euros. On the auction house’s portal it was stated that “This is a very rare military decree of the king, who died at the age of 14.”

The Russian Embassy in Paris attempted to cancel the agreement and demanded the return of the document to the RGVIA.
