President Ilham Aliyev In his speech at the first session of the seventh convocation of the Milli Majlis, he also touched upon the issue of normalization of relations with Armenia.
AZERTAC reports that the head of our state recalled that peace talks were initiated by Azerbaijan during the Second Karabakh War. At that time, neither Armenia nor other countries in general had their own ideas about what the future would be like.
The President noted that Armenia is artificially prolonging the issue and said:
“To date, since our first draft was sent to Armenia, there have been 10 exchanges of comments… As the months passed, we naturally expected that Armenia would send us its comments more quickly and flexibly. However, we saw exactly that. We had to wait 70 days for all unagreed provisions to be removed from the peace agreement. In other words, such a primitive and inadequate step was not expected.”
The Head of State stressed that several points indicate that Armenia does not actually want peace, but rather an extension.
