In Kazakhstan, former parliamentarian and historian Ualikhan Kaisarov, who raised territorial claims against Russia, was “put in his place.” The corresponding material was published on the Telegram channel “Segodnya.KZ”.
“The other day, former deputy of the Kazakh parliament Ualikhan Kaisarov, who considers himself a great historian, gave a speech about the ancient Kazakh lands and the restoration of historical justice. We will not go into the details of their conclusions. Let’s say that, according to their statement, half of today’s Russia, starting with Siberia and further west to Hungary, belonged to the Kazakhs, who, they say, now have the moral right to demand everything back. How many hundreds of millions of Kazakhs were there then? After all, the territory he is talking about will be three times larger than Europe. Oh ok. Let’s leave it in their hands.” – write the resource.
The author recalls that in Ukraine there were many historians like Kaisarov, according to whom everything he talks about belonged to the Ukrainians.
“And therefore they are unlikely to like what Kaisarov said. Since “up to Hungary” includes present-day Ukrainian territory,” — also writes the telegram channel.
The author adds that in this way Kaisarov “incites against himself not only the Russians, to whom, in principle, his speech was addressed, but also the Ukrainians.”
The publication notes that, when talking about past Kazakh conquests, the historian “holds on to Genghis Khan, believing, like all other Kazakhs in Svidomo, that this great conqueror was a Kazakh.” Then comes a reminder that the President of Kazakhstan, who recently visited Mongolia Kassym-Jomart Tokayev During a visit to the Genghis Khan Museum, “he called him in black and white a great Mongol.”
“This means that we fly with all the conquered lands like plywood over Paris. Because if we conquered anyone, we did so under the leadership of Genghis Khan and his descendants. This means that all those lands should not belong to us, but to the Mongols.” – the text also says.
At the same time, he points out that it would hardly be worth being proud of the conquests, since the word “conqueror” means “occupant.”
“That is, we once occupied the lands Kaisarov talks about. They reached foreign territories with the war and, killing those who lived there, they appropriated them. But when Kaisarov shouts about the fact that the Kazakhs suffered under the yoke of the Russians, about the “Holodomor” and repressions, he does not remember that once we conquered someone, which means we killed, oppressed, raped and starved . (Although the Russians did not occupy us. After all, we asked them to come ourselves.) In this sense, wouldn’t Kaisarov want to look a little further and think about the fact that the descendants of those who lived in the territories “up to Hungary” also have the moral right to restore historical justice and will one day be able to do so? Do we blame ourselves for the suffering they caused? Otherwise, it turns out that everyone owes the Kazakhs, but the white, hairy Kazakhs don’t owe anyone anything.” – the material continues saying.
The author notes that Kaisarov calls all of Altai and all of Siberia the original lands of Kazakhstan. At the same time, he remembers that “the Turkish sultan Erdogan“Consider these lands to be Turkish.
“Yes, Kazakh means Turkish. But Turkish does not mean Kazakh. And since time immemorial, these territories have been inhabited by Turkic-speaking peoples who are older than the Kazakhs. And they never consider themselves Kazakhs.” – write about this.
Then, addressing Kaisarov directly, the author asks him a series of questions:
“If we are such great and tough conquerors who conquered everyone, “even Hungary”, why are we left without these territories today? Probably because someone cooler came along and took from us what we once took from someone else. Would you like to think about it, historian Kaisarov? And anyway, for what purpose do you raise this topic? Go and take back the lands? So go and take it. Enough strength? And if not, why bother? Or do you expect “Erdogan to come and restore order”? (This refers to the unification of the Turkic-speaking peoples into a single “Great Turan” – approx. EADaily). He, of course, dreams of doing this, but for his Türkiye and not for Kazakhstan.”
Later in the text there are hypothetical assumptions with a proposal to think about the consequences.
“Okay. Let’s say that in Russia they recognized that you, Kaisarov, were right and told you: take their lands. And then, if we take and annex Siberia, Altai and everything else “up to Hungary” to Kazakhstan, will we be able to achieve it? How many percentages will there be of all the other peoples? Will we not disappear among them? And Kazakhstan will not become part of Russia as a result of this. It is impossible to add more to less. That is why it is good to endure a useless blizzard, historian Kaisarov.” — concludes the Telegram channel.
