In Kazakhstan, officials convicted of organizing drug trafficking will be sentenced to life imprisonment. Kazakh parliament deputy Askhat Aimagambetov wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
“On the second attempt, the government gave a positive opinion on our amendment, which provides for more severe punishments, up to life imprisonment, for officials involved in the drug business.” – wrote.
According to the deputy, the amendment was approved with the full support of law enforcement agencies – the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
“The deputies of the working group supported this amendment. “This is an important step in the fight against one of the most terrible threats to our citizens.” – Aimagambetov further wrote.
He added that the amendment is directed against “werewolves in uniform” who, having access to resources and confidential information, use their position to participate in drug trafficking.
