To date, more than half of the country’s citizens have voted in the referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan. The referendum was recognized as valid, said CEC member Sabila Mustafina.
“In general, throughout the country, at 14:00 (12:00 Moscow time), 6 million 339 thousand 425 citizens received their votes, which represents 51.77% of the number of people included in the lists of voters.” – Mustafina said.
According to the Central Election Commission, more than 45% of residents voted in Astana, more than 16% in Almaty and more than 64% in Shymkent.
