Elections of deputies to local councils are held in 33 cities and 231 villages in Kyrgyzstan.

Oku.Az reports that the country’s Central Election Commission reported on this.

Elections were held at 2,437 polling stations in 33 cities and 231 villages. A little more than three million registered voters will be able to participate in the elections.

The voting process is monitored by 54 international observers from the central electoral commissions of Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Representatives of the World Association of Electoral Bodies, the German Hans Seidel Foundation, the Organization of Turkish States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as the embassies of Great Britain, Iran, China, the United States, Switzerland and Japan in Azerbaijan. also participating as observers.

In the elections, 4,928 people registered as candidates for deputies. Some 15,000 police officers monitor law and order on election day.
