In western Moscow, a taxi driver ran over three people, including a child, who were crossing the street at a pedestrian crossing, the press service of the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate reported.
“According to preliminary data, on Sculptor Mukhina Street, in the area of building 4, the driver of a Hyundai taxi ran over three pedestrians who were crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing.” – the message said.
Three people were injured in the accident: a woman, a man and a child. They were taken to a medical centre. Traffic police officers are currently working on the scene and all the circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
The press service of the General Investigation Directorate of the capital clarified that a married couple with a small child in their arms were injured in the accident.
“A criminal case has been initiated for an offence under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles),” – the department reported.
Investigators and criminologists examine the scene of the incident, seize CCTV footage and question witnesses.
