Half of the normal monthly precipitation will fall in Moscow in the next 24 hours, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, said on October 6.

A cyclone is approaching Moscow, which will cause a decrease in pressure and cause heavy rain, the meteorologist noted.

“It will start to rain in the afternoon and it will be quite intense. It will not weaken significantly until Monday afternoon. In fact, the amount of rainfall is expected to be significant,” Channel Five quotes Vilfand’s forecast.

According to Vilfand, the center of the cyclone will practically coincide with the coordinates of the capital.

At the same time, Moscow will be in the warm sector of the cyclone, so on Monday, October 7, the temperature in the city will increase significantly – up to +16…+18 (in the region – up to +19) degrees, which It is between 6 and 7 degrees above the climatic norm.

Starting on Tuesday, October 8, it will start to get very cold in the capital, the temperature will drop to +12…+14 degrees and it will start to rain. On Wednesday night they will stop and the temperature will drop again: to +4… +8 degrees during the day and to +1… +6 at night. Slight increases are possible in the future, but in general, from October 9, the average daily temperature will not exceed eight degrees Celsius.
