Romanian police have arrested a 30-year-old Ukrainian man on suspicion of murdering his compatriot, local publication News.ro reported.
Sources close to the investigation said the victim had been in the country for several days and had crossed the border fraudulently with another Ukrainian man he lived with.
On Saturday at around 8:00 a.m. a man called the police in Botosani city saying that a deceased Ukrainian citizen was in his house.
“The police officers who arrived at the scene confirmed that the events reported were confirmed: they identified a 26-year-old man who had a gunshot wound to the head, and a hunting weapon was found next to him. “At this time, an on-site investigation is being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident.” – the police clarified.
A man suspected of murder has been placed in a pre-trial detention centre.
