Russian border guards, when checking Ukrainians’ phones, restore previously deleted data. Crimean Tatar Lenya Umerova, who returned from captivity, spoke about this during the telethon.
The Ukrainian woman, she says, was accused of espionage based on information gleaned from her phone when she was trying to enter Russia: she was heading to Crimea.
The girl said that before the trip she deleted all her “personal resources”, but Russian border guards were able to restore them.
