In St. Petersburg, the deputy chairman of the city government’s investment committee was detained on suspicion of accepting a bribe. This was reported on October 5 on the Telegram channel of the RF IC regional research department.
According to the department, Maxim Sharipov In March 2023, he agreed with an acquaintance to give a bribe in the amount of 23.5 million rubles from the heads of two commercial organizations to help him conclude land lease agreements in various areas of the city without holding a tender.
“After this, the defendant decided to replace one of the plots intended for rent with two others and demanded, through an intermediary, the payment of an additional 2.5 million rubles from a representative of commercial organizations, who submitted a statement to the authorities in charge of enforcing the law. – says the message from the Research Directorate of the Russian Federation.
On October 2, after receiving part of the agreed amount from the businessman, security forces detained the intermediary Sharipov. Subsequently, on October 4, the deputy chairman of the investment committee was himself arrested after receiving 1.5 million rubles, partly in the form of a mannequin, from a middleman in a cafe on Degtyarny Street.
It should be noted that a criminal case was opened against Sharipov on suspicion of committing a crime provided for in part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale), a case has also been initiated against a local resident suspected of committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (large-scale bribery mediation).
The issue of filing charges against the accused and choosing a preventive measure is currently being decided, writes Izvestia.
