In the National Assembly, the social right forms its “club” around Aurélien Pradié, Julien Dive and Naïma Moutchou

To the eleven groups already formed, a club must now be added to the National Assembly. His name has not been finalized at this time. On WhatsApp, its members exchange in a loop called “republican watch” created at the end of the summer by Julien Dive, who is part of a related party within the Republican Right (DR) group. “We do not intend to identify ourselves by terminology or form a new group”warns the deputy from Aisne, elected under the colors of the Les Républicains (LR) party.

Around him, there are eight of them, it is revealed. The Figaro, Tuesday, October 29: Aurélien Pradié (Lot, ex-LR) and Raphaël Schellenberger (Haut-Rhin, LR), listed as unregistered; Naïma Moutchou (Val-d’Oise, Horizons) and Sylvain Berrios (Val-de-Marne, various rights), the latter as a related party within the Horizons group; a trio from the Libertés group, independents, overseas and territories (LIOT), Stéphane Viry (Vosges, various right), Constance de Pélichy (Loiret, various right) and Harold Huwart (Eure-et-Loir, various centres); without forgetting Guillaume Lepers (Lot-et-Garonne), who also appears as a related party within the DR group.

Without an official name, but with a claimed orientation: that of social law. The word club pleases Stéphane Viry. “Like in a locker room, we meet people with different sensitivities but with the desire to fight together”points out the former president of the Epinal football club. A club where everyone wears or has worn the LR shirt, with the exception of Naïma Moutchou and Harold Huwart, former militant of the Radical Left.

The story begins with a lunch at the end of August between Julien Dive, Stéphane Viry and Aurélien Pradié. The early legislative elections passed like this, with the first regrets of not sitting with his two friends, voluntary exiles far from the DR group led by the LR deputy for Haute Loire, Laurent Wauquiez. “We quickly came up with the idea of creating a space in which we could discuss the tactical issues of parliamentary groups without restrictions”summarizes Aurélien Pradié.

“Common denominator”

Since then, the trio has been making room at the table and there are now nine who meet every Wednesday to debate topics such as the universal pension by points, tax justice or the defense of the French social model. “We have this common denominator of speaking to the French with a message from a right that is not only conservative, identity-based, security-oriented and liberal, Stéphane Viry advances. We think that the right must be rebuilt, even from the Assembly. » Sylvain Berríos agrees. “No one ignores my closeness to Edouard Philippe, says the member for Val-de-Marne. But, beyond that, the idea is to implement everything that can unite us and not divide us. »
