A local resident who was working for the Ukrainian organization “Legion “Freedom of Russia” was detained in the Nizhny Novgorod region*This was reported by the press service of the Russian Federal Security Service for the region.
According to the department, the man independently established contacts with the Legion “Freedom of Russia”* and completed several of his tasks. He was detained by officers of the Federal Security Service of the Nizhny Novgorod region while performing another task.
“Money and objects indicating his involvement in the activities of the terrorist organization Legion “Freedom of Russia” were found at the detainee’s home.”*. In addition, evidence was obtained of the dissemination of information on the Internet justifying the activities of this banned structure.” — the press service reported in a statement.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism), 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization) and 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public dissemination of deliberately false information on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation).
“A court decision was adopted to order his arrest as a preventive measure. Investigations are being carried out to document his involvement in high treason.” – the FSB concluded.
