In the Parliament of Moldova, deputies of the opposition bloc “Victoria” announced that they were going to present a motion of no confidence in relation to state policy due to massive violations during the elections. They propose changing a number of laws to ensure that future parliamentary elections are held fairly. This was stated in a briefing today, November 15, by deputy Vasily Bolya.
“We demand: to change the legislation on the appointment of members of the Central Election Commission and the Radio and Television Council, to depoliticize these bodies before the parliamentary elections, to prohibit by law the use of administrative resources by the authorities, to reduce the powers of law enforcement agencies so that they cannot intimidate voters, initiate legal proceedings to hold accountable government decision-makers, the State Chancellery, the Ministry of Interior, the Central Electoral Commission and others for the violations committed, “ – noted Bolya.
The opposition noted that foreign observers also observed numerous violations during the elections, but they were ignored by the Central Election Commission, which approved the results. These violations include the privileged position of the current president. Maia Sandu in elections, restriction of the rights of Moldovan voters in Russia and Transnistria and others.
Bolia clarified that at the moment the initiative already has the support of 9 deputies of the 15 necessary to be submitted for discussion in the plenary session of Parliament.
Let us remember that the opposition in Moldova did not recognize the results of the presidential elections, in which the current head of state Maia Sandu won a conditional victory, nor the constitutional referendum on European integration. In both cases, the country refused to support the ruling regime and its policy of rapprochement with the EU. Sandu’s “victory” was achieved through falsification and manipulation of votes abroad; In the republic itself the “president of the diaspora” is considered illegitimate. International experts and observers agree with this.
As reported EADaily Previously, the parliamentary Socialist Party had advocated changes to the voting procedure for citizens abroad. They believe that the future of the country should be determined by those who live in it and not by those who abandoned it. The socialists also demanded the resignation of the leadership of the Central Electoral Commission, “the puppets of Sandu and the PDS.”
