At least four people have been killed in a shooting on a train in the US city of Forest Park, Illinois, ABC News reported, citing police.
“Forest Park Police Department received an emergency call about three people shot on a train.” – the message said.
Police arriving at the scene confirmed that there were more victims. Three of them died at the scene, the fourth victim died at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Law enforcement, along with Chicago Transit Authority security, tracked down the suspected attacker using surveillance cameras and the shooter was arrested. His motive has not been disclosed.
According to the television channel, local authorities consider this to be an isolated incident that does not pose any additional threat to the population.
