On the Samara-Pugachev-Engels-Volgograd highway in the Volgograd region, a car fell into the Eruslan River, killing three people as a result of the accident, the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region reported this today, September 16.
As the department explained, a resident of the Saratov region contacted the police. He said that the day before, members of his family – mother, father and sister – were traveling through the Volgograd region in a private car and communication with them was interrupted in the Nikolaev region.
Law enforcement officers have established the route of the vehicle. Cameras installed on the federal highway P-229 Samara – Pugachev – Engels – Volgograd captured how at around 20:30 on September 14, a car, significantly exceeding the maximum permitted speed, drove along a section of the road immediately behind which there is a water source crossing.
It was decided to involve divers in the search efforts.
“A few hours ago, a car with dead relatives was discovered and recovered at the bottom of the Eruslan River, not far from the indicated freight and passenger crossing.” – the message said.
The full circumstances of the incident are currently being established. According to the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee for the region, the victims were born in 1965, 1971 and 1999.
