In total, 175 people have died on Andalusian roads this year.

A total of 175 people lost their lives on the roads of Andalusia So far this year, that is 45 more than during the same period of 2023. Concretely, the community said goodbye to the month of September with 20 deaths due to this cause.

Given this, the General Directorate of Traffic calls for caution, attention to the road and respect for the highway codewith particular emphasis on those related to speed, alcohol/drug consumption, use of mobile phones by drivers or the use of seat belts or helmets, problems which account for the greatest number of fatal accidents on the roads.

Regarding the type of road, 90% of deaths in September occurred following an accident on conventional roadsas reported by the Andalusian government delegation in a note. By province, Seville recorded 25% of deaths in Andalusia during this assessed period.

This month particularly stands out the increase in vulnerable deathswhich represent more than half, since nine people were motorcycle drivers, three more than in September last year, and two pedestrians, while none had occurred in September 2023.

If we take into account the type of accident, deaths following collisions decrease slightly (nine compared to 13 in September 2023) and those recorded due to a collision increase (two compared to none in September 2023).
