In Tula, a police officer was arrested for a case of illegal migration

A Tula court arrested an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who had previously been detained in a case of organizing illegal migration. This was reported today, October 18, by the press service of the regional Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

“A preventive measure was chosen consisting of the detention for two months against the head of the Criminal Code of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Tula region <>”, – the message said.

Earlier it was reported about the arrest of the deputy chief of police for operational work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Tula region and the head of the drug trafficking control department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The investigation established that from 2020 to 2024, these police officers were members of the commission for issuing temporary residence permits to foreign citizens. Knowing that the information provided to the commission about the addresses and places of work of foreigners was unreliable, the police made positive decisions about issuing quotas in exchange for monetary reward.

The criminal investigation continues. No preventive measure has yet been taken against the second accused.
