The outgoing president, Kaïs Saïed, won Sunday’s presidential elections with 90.7% of the votes, the Independent High Electoral Authority (ISIE) announced on Monday, October 7.
The participation rate stands at 28.8%, the electoral authority also indicated, the highest abstention since the arrival of democracy in 2011. The other two candidates, Ayachi Zammel and Zouhair Maghzaoui, obtain respectively 7.35% and 1.97% of the votes, according to ISIE.
