The president of the PP of the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens, took advantage of her intervention this Saturday, during the closing ceremony of the political conference I am the canvi of toddlersto account for his management of the government to defend the “courage”, that of his executive which “reduced family taxes by 400 million euros in two years”, instead of “collecting and stifling more” them and to increase spending on health, education, social services and housing by 600 million.
Prohens thus wanted to clarify that, even if “in 15 months of government, many things have changed, “There is still a lot to do.”
It is precisely for this reason that he considered that ““You cannot fall into complacency.”On the contrary, “we must gain momentum” to confront everything that the “popular” “still has to say and do to change the lives of citizens”, from “the political center, of moderation, of listening and of dialogue, where the vast majority is” as well as “the courage to leave aside complexes when doing politics”.
As the president of the PP of the islands indicated, “everyone has their place in the center” and “the PP now, after having recovered the DNA of the party, “He occupies the entire political center of this country and is once again the one who most resembles the citizens.”
In this sense, Prohens underlined the “courage” of his government to face the problem of access to housing and stressed that “being courageous means saying that What the left proclaims is deceiving people, “It is impossible to lower prices without more housing on the market” and “it is not possible unless more land is made available to the private sector so that more housing can be built.”
“Everything cannot be done from the public”, estimated the also president of the government, “this is why the private sector is the great ally of the government to alleviate the housing problem”, underlined Prohens, deploring that left-wing parties maintain that “the housing problem belongs to everyone and that the vulnerability of families is placed on private property”.
In addition, he underlined the “courage” of the Government in terms of administrative simplification, “reduction of bureaucracy and entities which only served to entangle themselves with political and ideological criteria and without technical criteria”. Well, while “There are political options that live off bureaucracy and to make relations with the Administration difficult for businesses and citizens”, the PP of the Balearic Islands defends a model of “freedom and liberalism”, which has had an impact.
Likewise, in the “courage” of the Department of Tourism to say “out loud” that “We have to change, we can’t continue like this, we have reached the limit” and, “at the same time, defend tourism“, since it is “the sector which generates more wealth, more well-being and more jobs on this earth, without demagoguery or populism.
A “bravery”, that of its autonomous executive, which it has also claimed in other issues, such as financial policy, by demanding a “fair financing” for the Balearic Islands, by making the Spanish government understand “without complexes” that “gifts paid to other autonomous communities with the money of workers in this country will not be accepted”; regarding immigration, we must avoid “populist debates, which aim to divide citizens between those who are in favor and those who are not” as well as “beneficial speeches”.
In this sense, he recalled that, according to a report from the Gadeso Foundation64% of citizens already believe that this is a serious problem” and “it is possible that in less than ten years the Balearic Islands will become the Canary Islands”; or in the field of education, “affirming that “it will no longer be possible to talk about Education in capital letters if what worries families is not included in the debate, and if minors are not retrained in the contents” because “LOMLOE allows subjects to pass suspended, but not for life.

And, to defend “a memory for all”based on the construction of “bridges”, on what “unites, which reconciles, which embraces”, as happened in “the transition that our parents and grandparents took place”, and “no walls , neither insults nor divisions”; of “clean energy, for everyone, not just for those who can afford it”; of a peasantry, “not like that which some depict, as something theoretical”; of a coastline, “for everyone, for those who sail, fish and for those who make a living from it because they have a business”.
