A gas pipeline fire at PDVSA’s Muscar plant in Venezuela occurred under strange circumstances that indicate there may have been an attack, the oil and gas company said in a statement.
“The technical team is working to fully control the situation and is identifying the strange circumstances of the incident that characterize it as an attack on our industry.” – he said in a statement published on the PDVSA website.
According to the statement, five people were injured as a result of the incident that occurred on the 26-inch Mascar-Soto gas pipeline, all of them were hospitalized. A team made up of oil specialists, civil protection, national guard and firefighters from the Monagas state is working on the extinguishing work.
Local media reported earlier on Monday of a series of explosions and a fire at the Muscar gas complex in Monagas state, between the Musipan and Carito oil fields. In reference to the residents of the area, it was reported that the areas adjacent to the plant were evacuated.
