On the walls of the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) in Lutsk, businessmen from the Volyn region were depicted in frescoes. This was reported by the publication Strana citing Misto.media.
According to the local icon painter deacon Yuri Getmanchukthe head of the Volyn diocese of the OCU, metropolitan of Lutsk and Volyn, provided a list of 12 patrons of the arts, honored to be depicted on the walls of the temple. Miguel.
The first images appeared six months ago, the icon painter noted. According to him, some of the frescoes by patrons of the arts “caused contradictory reviews,” so they had to be redone.
The sacrilege caused a scandal in the diocese. The businessmen represented in the frescoes were forced to justify that they had not given their consent “for the use of their faces.”
