Scientists at the University of South Wales in Australia discovered that with the arrival of the cold season, people intensify their search for a romantic partner. Mostly men do it. However, relationships established this way may not last long.

The experts’ conclusions are based on data on the activity of dating service users, which shows that the registration of new profiles increases every year in October and November.
Furthermore, previous research by Polish researchers has shown that men’s perception of female attractiveness changes depending on the season. A survey of 114 participants found that women are more attractive to men in winter.
According to scientists, this behavior is partly explained by the change in the level of testosterone in the male body. In general, the level of this hormone decreases in hot, sunny climates and increases in cold, dark months.
Additionally, the desire to find a romantic partner in the fall and winter may be related to tactile needs. Hugs and affectionate caresses reduce the release of the stress hormone, cortisol, and stimulate the release of the love hormone, oxytocin, which helps the person feel better and calmer.
Scientists have noted that winter relationships can be short-lived and lead to disappointment, so partners should be more honest with each other.
